Liverpool have now crossed the $270 million mark in outgoing transfers this summer, following the sale of teenage winger Ben Doak—who has chosen to go by Ben Gannon Doak—to AFC Bournemouth.
The 19-year-old departs Anfield after joining from Celtic in 2022 for around $800,000, where he quickly rose through the youth ranks before making his senior debut under Jurgen Klopp. Despite showing flashes of talent, injuries and fierce competition limited his opportunities in the first team.
Doak—who made headlines as the youngest Scottish player to appear in the Premier League—leaves Liverpool having also enjoyed a loan spell at Middlesbrough, where he was named EFL Young Player of the Month last November. His time at Anfield wasn’t without memorable moments, including an infamous training session where Juventus loanee Arthur Melo cheekily nutmegged him, leaving teammates in stitches.
With his switch to the Cherries worth around $33 million, the winger will now wear the No. 11 shirt at the Vitality Stadium. Interestingly, the deal is believed to include a buy-back option for Liverpool, keeping the door open for a potential reunion in the future.
Speaking after the move, Gannon Doak expressed his excitement:

Liverpool, meanwhile, continue to reshape their squad under Arne Slot, having already invested close to $400M on new arrivals such as Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, and Florian Wirtz—much of it offset by their impressive sales this window.
