Could this summer mark the end of Luis Díaz’s journey at Anfield? With serious interest coming from European giants like Bayern Munich and Barcelona, Liverpool may be tempted to cash in on the Colombian winger — and club legend Emile Heskey already has a replacement in mind.
Despite rebuffing early approaches, including a hefty £58.6m bid from Bayern, Liverpool reportedly value Díaz at around €100m (£86.8m). Yet, with only two years left on his contract and whispers that he’s open to a new challenge, speculation around his future is intensifying.
Former striker Heskey believes that if the price is right, Liverpool should consider parting ways — but only if they have the right successor lined up. His top pick? Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.
💬 “If Bayern are willing to pay the right amount, you have to think about it,” Heskey said in an interview. “And if Diaz does leave, I think Gordon is a fantastic option.”
Gordon, known for his pace, fearlessness, and old-school wing play, has caught Heskey’s eye as a dynamic threat capable of lighting up the left flank — much like Díaz did.
