Liverpool’s stars have rallied around Mohamed Salah after the forward was honoured for his incredible performances during last season’s title-winning campaign.
Salah was instrumental in Arne Slot’s first year in charge, firing the Reds to Premier League glory with a stunning return of 34 goals and 23 assists in all competitions. His form earned him the Golden Boot and confirmed his place as one of the driving forces behind Liverpool’s second league crown of his Anfield career.
Despite months of speculation about his future, Salah ended the uncertainty by penning a new contract alongside captain Virgil van Dijk, ensuring the club’s leadership remains intact for years to come.
That decision now looks even more significant, with Salah’s brilliance being formally recognised on 19 August, when he was named PFA Player of the Year—becoming the first player to win the award three times.
Taking to Instagram after the ceremony, Salah wrote:
> “This award feels even more special when it comes with a trophy for the whole team. Being champions is what matters, and we’ll fight to do it again this season. I’m very grateful to everyone who voted for me.”
His post sparked a wave of support. Van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch replied with heart and applause emojis, while Ibrahima Konaté showed his backing with a like. Beyond Liverpool, fellow Premier League names such as Jack Grealish, Nathan Aké, and former Red Luis Díaz also acknowledged Salah’s achievement.
While Salah’s future is secure, Konaté’s position is less certain. The French defender, who also celebrated his teammate’s triumph, has under a year left on his current deal. With Real Madrid keeping close tabs and Liverpool weighing up a move for Marc Guehi, the coming months could prove decisive in determining whether Konaté stays at Anfield or moves on.
