Wayne Rooney Reveals Surprise Ibiza Night Out with Arne Slot đ

Itâs not often you hear the names Wayne Rooney and Liverpool in the same sentenceâunless itâs about fierce rivalries. But this summer, the unexpected happened.
The Manchester United and Everton legend revealed that he ended up celebrating alongside Liverpool boss Arne Slot during a night out in Ibiza. The pair crossed paths at a Calvin Harris show, with Rooney admitting he had a long chat with the Dutchman despite their very different football loyalties.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the 39-year-old said:
> âWe went to see Calvin Harris, and they put us in a VIP section. Arne Slot was right in front of me, so we had a good chat. I congratulated him on winning the leagueâeven though I donât want Liverpool to win, youâve got to show respect.â
Drinks, DJs and a Shared Celebration đčđ¶
After the set, both Rooney and Slot headed backstage to meet the DJ, continuing their conversation late into the night. Rooney later joked that Slot seemed like âa really nice fellaâ but added he hoped Liverpool wouldnât be quite as successful this season.
For Slot, Ibiza wasnât just a getawayâit was a victory lap. After guiding Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th league title with a crushing 5-1 win over Tottenham, the Dutchman flew to the party island to celebrate.
At the famous O Beach club, Slot was given a heroâs welcome. Social media clips showed him being brought onto the stage to We Are the Champions, with the crowd cheering as dancers held cards spelling âCHAMPIONS.â The event, hosted by Wayne Lineker, even saw the club owner post a photo alongside Slot captioned: âCaption this #YWNAâ.
Rivals, But Respect â
For Rooney, the sight of Liverpool lifting another title was never going to be easy. Yet his Ibiza story shows a different sideâone where football rivalries can be put aside, at least for one night under the island lights.
