Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that while Saudi clubs still hold Salah in high regard, there are currently no active discussions or negotiations about a move.
Romano also noted that Salah’s current season has been challenging compared to last year, with the Egyptian forward not performing at his usual standard. However, this dip in form doesn’t automatically signal an imminent departure from Anfield.
> “The appreciation from Saudi remains,” Romano said. “Salah has always been on their radar, but as of today, in December, there are no talks or negotiations happening. Nothing is underway.”
The journalist stressed that despite the challenging period, Salah remains fully committed to Liverpool. A recent contract extension, which included a significant salary boost, shows the player’s desire to stay and contribute, even during a tough spell for the club.
Romano added context about the broader squad’s form: several Liverpool players are not performing at their peak this season, making Salah’s struggles part of a wider pattern rather than an isolated issue.
> “Mo Salah is focused on Liverpool,” Romano concluded. “He wants to demonstrate commitment during a difficult time. Full focus on Liverpool — that has to be clear.”
For now, Salah’s priority remains lifting Liverpool through a tricky season, with no transfer move on the immediate horizon.
