Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared his thoughts on the reaction from supporters following his side’s frustrating 1-1 draw with Burnley at Anfield.
At full-time, sections of the crowd voiced their disappointment, but Slot believes the noise was not aimed directly at the team. Instead, he feels it was a natural expression of frustration from fans who expected more from the match.
Speaking after the game, Slot said: “In my mind, it wasn’t really booing. It was more about frustration.”
He went on to acknowledge that expectations are always high at a club like Liverpool. “We are Liverpool, and when we face a team like Burnley, people expect us to win. Credit to them for their performance, but if we walk away satisfied with a draw, then something isn’t right.”
The Dutch coach admitted that both he and his players shared the same feelings as the supporters. “I feel the same disappointment, and so do the players. We all wanted a better result today.”
The result leaves Liverpool with more questions than answers as they continue to search for consistent league form in front of their home crowd.
