Newcastle Fire Cold Statement After Isak’s Deadline-Day Switch to Liverpool 🔥

The long-running Alexander Isak transfer saga has finally come to an end — but not without drama.

On deadline day, the 25-year-old striker sealed a blockbuster £125m move to Liverpool, penning a six-year deal that smashed the British transfer record. His departure comes after a summer filled with tension, broken promises, and very public disagreements with Newcastle United.

Back in August, Isak took to Instagram to voice his frustrations, claiming:

> “When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue.”

Newcastle, however, hit back at those claims, insisting that no official at the club had ever guaranteed him a move away.

Despite the off-field conflict, Isak leaves Tyneside with an impressive record: 62 goals in 109 appearances since his arrival from Real Sociedad in 2022. One of his standout moments came in the Carabao Cup final, where his strike helped deliver Newcastle their first major silverware since 1955.

Yet, instead of the usual warm farewell often granted to departing players, Newcastle’s official statement announcing his exit was strikingly blunt. It simply confirmed his sale to Liverpool and listed his appearances — a stark contrast to the glowing send-off given to 18-year-old Trevan Sanusi, who was loaned out to FC Lorient the very same day.

After three seasons at St. James’ Park, Isak now begins a new chapter at Anfield — but his frosty exit suggests his name won’t be sung too fondly back in Newcastle any time soon.
