Mohamed Salah’s recent outburst about Liverpool manager Arne Slot has triggered fresh backlash, with another pundit arguing that the forward’s comments could have a greater long-term impact than Trent Alexander-Arnold’s controversial move to Real Madrid.Salah openly questioned the club’s handling of him following Liverpool’s 3–3 draw with Leeds on Saturday.
The Egyptian, who started the match on the bench for the third game in a row, suggested he was being unfairly singled out for the team’s poor form. His remarks have now raised doubts over his future at Anfield.While many supporters were furious earlier in the year when Alexander-Arnold left for Madrid, former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster believes Salah’s behaviour could prove even more damaging. Speaking on the Fozcast podcast, Foster claimed Liverpool may soon face a major internal dilemma.According to Foster, Salah’s criticism puts the club in a situation where they must either fully back their manager or risk appearing to bow to player pressure. He added that if Slot is removed because of this situation, it could send a dangerous message about dressing-room power dynamics. Salah has already been left out of Liverpool’s 19-man squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.Foster said:“If the club stands with Slot, then Salah can’t feature again. But if Slot loses his job over this, it shows players can get their way by making statements when they’re unhappy.”Foster also suggested that Salah may have mentally detached from the club, saying the forward sounds like someone who has reached the end of his patience.
