After months of speculation, Martin Zubimendi has opened up about his blockbuster move to Arsenal — and why he said no to Liverpool once more 🔥.

The 26-year-old midfield maestro has completed a stunning £60 million switch to the Emirates, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal. But this wasn’t Arsenal’s first attempt to bring him in. In fact, Liverpool came knocking first… last summer 😮.

Back then, Zubimendi was heavily linked with the Reds as Jurgen Klopp aimed to reinforce his midfield. But loyalty to his boyhood club, Real Sociedad, saw him stay put — at least temporarily.

Fast-forward to now, fresh off a victorious Euro 2024 campaign with Spain, and Zubimendi says the timing and the destination are finally right 👇

> “This is a massive step in my journey. Arsenal’s style fits the way I play, and I’m confident there’s much more to achieve here.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal — who finished ten points adrift of Liverpool last season — are on a serious recruitment mission. The Gunners are also in advanced talks to sign Christian Nørgaard and Viktor Gyökeres as Mikel Arteta looks to build a title-winning squad 🛠️🏆.

Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, also shared his excitement:

> “Martin has been on our radar for a long time. He brings elegance, control, and the kind of intelligence we need in the heart of midfield.”

Stay tuned — the Gunners are only just getting started 🔴⚪.
