Manchester City are believed to be in pole position in the race to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, with the Premier League champions reportedly willing to meet his £65 million release clause.
The 25-year-old Ghana international has enjoyed an outstanding campaign and is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after attacking players in England. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City all tracking his situation closely ahead of the January transfer window.
Guardiola Keen on Semenyo’s Profile
Pep Guardiola is understood to be a strong admirer of Semenyo’s physical presence, work rate, and tactical flexibility. City see him as a forward capable of playing anywhere across the frontline, while also providing impact from the bench in high-stakes matches.
Club insiders suggest City are prepared to act decisively once the window opens, with an official approach expected early in January. From a financial standpoint, triggering the £65m clause would not be an issue, and discussions over personal terms are not anticipated to be problematic. Semenyo is reportedly open to a move that would allow him to compete at the very top level under Guardiola.
Liverpool and Spurs Still in the Picture
Liverpool remain firmly in the hunt. With uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s long-term future and continued interest from Saudi Arabia, the Reds view Semenyo as a strong candidate to reinforce — or potentially reshape — their attacking line.
