Liverpool’s Hungarian maestro Dominik Szoboszlai has reportedly caught the attention of Manchester City and Real Madrid, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS.
Both European powerhouses are said to be keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old’s progress at Anfield, as speculation begins to swirl around his long-term future with the Reds.
Since his £60 million arrival from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023, Szoboszlai has become one of Liverpool’s most influential figures — thriving under Arne Slot’s evolving system. This season alone, he’s already been involved in six goals from 15 appearances, underlining his growing impact.
Known for his versatility, Szoboszlai has even filled in at right-back when injuries hit Liverpool’s defence, showcasing his tactical intelligence and work rate.
Liverpool are reportedly keen to secure his future, with talks of a contract extension and a pay rise already on the table. His current deal runs until 2028, but the Reds are eager to reward his performances and fend off suitors.
Currently earning around €135,000 per week, the club’s board are ready to increase that figure to match his growing importance — and to cool interest from Europe’s elite.
Both Man City and Real Madrid have been impressed by the Hungarian’s combination of power, creativity, and leadership. City view him as a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s high-energy midfield, while Real Madrid reportedly see him as part of their next-generation rebuild alongside Jude Bellingham.
Although neither club is expected to make an immediate bid, both are watching closely as Liverpool fight to stabilize under Slot’s leadership following the exits of key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis DÃaz.
Losing Szoboszlai — especially to a direct Premier League rival — would be a major blow for the Reds in their quest to rebuild and challenge again. ⚽🔥
