Liverpool have taken another step in building for the future by securing the transfer of teenage defender Mor Talla Ndiaye, who has officially joined the club’s Under-21 squad after developing his game in Senegal.
In his first comments since finalising the move, the 18-year-old revealed what made Anfield such an attractive destination — and it wasn’t just the club’s history. On social media, Ndiaye explained that watching Sadio Mané’s career was a huge influence in his decision to sign with the Reds, saying it felt like a dream to wear the famous red shirt.
Ndiaye also thanked the people and organisations that helped him along the way, including his former club Bou Sports, Amitié FC, and Liverpool legend Demba Ba, whose leadership off the pitch has been important to his journey.
While the young centre-back will start with the club’s development squad, early performance numbers show why Liverpool were keen to act quickly. Ndiaye’s strong passing accuracy and defensive contributions have marked him out as a promising talent with plenty of room to grow.
