The club announced that Bradley will undergo surgery in the coming days to address damage to ligaments and bone in his knee, a setback that will keep him out of action for the remainder of the campaign.

The injury occurred late in the goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium, where Bradley fell awkwardly near the touchline. He was stretchered off in visible pain, and although initial fears of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear were eased, scans revealed extensive damage to other structures in the knee.

Liverpool’s official statement did not give a precise return date, stating only that Bradley will begin rehabilitation at the club’s AXA Training Centre once the operation is complete. With the season now effectively over for him, this also jeopardises his availability for Northern Ireland’s crucial World Cup play-off match against Italy in March.

The timing couldn’t be worse for boss Arne Slot, who already faces defensive challenges with other injuries in his squad. Bradley’s absence adds further strain on Liverpool’s backline as they continue their Premier League and cup campaigns.

In a separate twist from the same game, Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli drew criticism after appearing to push Bradley off the pitch while he was injured — an incident that sparked debate but was followed by an apology from Martinelli, who said he did not realise the severity of Bradley’s injury at the time.
