However, reports suggest the England international is still frustrated over how the summer negotiations broke down, with suggestions he privately holds Liverpool responsible for the failed deal. Palace boss Oliver Glasner played a crucial role in blocking the switch despite Liverpool’s willingness to pay a significant fee.
Adding to the complications, Guehi is believed to be considering his long-term options carefully with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. Journalist Ben Jacobs has hinted that the centre-back will prioritise stability this season before deciding on his future in the summer, when he’ll have a wider choice of suitors.

With Arne Slot now left with only three senior centre-backs for the remainder of the season, Liverpool may have no choice but to test Palace’s resolve again in January—though convincing Guehi to commit could prove far more difficult than simply matching the asking price.
