Speculation is heating up around a possible massive summer move, as Liverpool reportedly initiate contact with Newcastle United regarding one of the league’s most electrifying strikers.

The 25-year-old Swedish forward — who has racked up an impressive 45 league goals over the last two campaigns — has become one of Europe’s most in-demand goal machines. While Newcastle’s Champions League qualification was thought to secure his future, ongoing rumours suggest otherwise.

🔴 According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have taken the first official step by making a direct approach to Newcastle. A potential record-breaking offer is now on the table — but it’s up to the Magpies to decide whether they’re ready to part ways with their talisman or instead push to extend his deal.

Back in December, The Telegraph hinted that Newcastle had slapped a £150 million valuation on the player, setting a high bar for any suitor.

📢 Meanwhile, the striker’s own words from earlier this year are now resurfacing, giving fans plenty to talk about. In an interview from March, he confessed to enjoying clashes with Liverpool more than most, calling them “intense and enjoyable” due to their shared attacking and high-press style.

> “I always look forward to playing against them,” he said. “There’s a real energy to those matches that suits the way I like to play.”

Ahead of the Carabao Cup final earlier this year — a game where Newcastle edged Liverpool 2-1 — he also praised Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool’s defensive setup, describing it as formidable but not intimidating.

> “I don’t fear anyone,” he added, “but I’ve got huge respect for Van Dijk and that backline. They push you to be at your best.”

👀 Could this mutual respect and admiration be laying the groundwork for something bigger?

Stay tuned — this story might just explode in the coming days! 💥🔥
