A well-placed transfer insider has shared new information suggesting that the Bayern Munich star could be at the centre of a three-club Premier League tussle — with Liverpool firmly in the mix.
Liverpool Maintain ‘Strong Interest’ in Olise
According to a new update from The Daily Briefing, Olise remains Liverpool’s top target to take over from Mohamed Salah in the long term. The 23-year-old, who only recently left Crystal Palace for Germany, is reportedly attracting attention from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
Bayern Munich are hoping to hold onto the winger, but insiders claim their stance could change if a “massive bid” arrives. One source told the reporter that an offer in the region of €130m–€140m (£114m–£123m) may force the Bundesliga champions to consider a sale.
Another source added: “There’s big interest building around Olise — keep watching Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United.”
Why Olise Fits Liverpool’s Post-Salah Blueprint
Liverpool supporters may not want to think about life after Salah just yet, but succession planning is already underway. With the Egyptian legend’s contract running down toward 2027, Liverpool are preparing for the future — and Olise is viewed as the ideal heir to the right-wing role.
While Antoine Semenyo continues to be linked as another potential option, Olise’s numbers this season are pulling him ahead of the pack. The French winger has delivered nine goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances for Bayern, including a monster five-goal-contribution performance in their 6–2 win over Freiburg.
His underlying stats place him among Europe’s elite wide players:
Metric (per 90) Percentile
Assists 0.57 – 99th
Shot-creating actions 6.72 – 99th
Progressive passes 7.2 – 96th
Non-penalty xG 0.41 – 95th
Shots 3.66 – 95th
Successful take-ons 2.57 – 93rd
Non-penalty goals 0.40 – 88th
Beyond the numbers, Olise already understands the Premier League from his days at Crystal Palace — a quality Liverpool value heavily after Florian Wirtz’s early adaptation struggles since arriving at Anfield.
The Verdict
Strengthening the defence remains Liverpool’s top priority for January, but when it comes to choosing Salah’s future successor, few players tick as many boxes as Michael Olise.
If Bayern are forced to listen to offers, Liverpool could find themselves in the middle of a fierce transfer showdown — and Olise may just be the most realistic long-term solution to fill the boots of their iconic No. 11.
