Liverpool and Man United monitor Nico Schlotterbeck as Borussia Dortmund contract talks stall –
Liverpool and Manchester United are both monitoring the situation of Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck, according to Christian Falk.
The Germany international has paused discussions over a new contract with Borussia Dortmund, citing the recent departure of sporting director Sebastian Kehl as a reason to reassess his future. However, Dortmund are said to believe there is more behind the delay.
Borussia suspect that Schlotterbeck’s hesitation may be influenced by growing interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, rather than solely internal changes at the club.
With negotiations currently on hold, both Premier League sides could now have an opportunity to explore a potential move for the centre-back.
This season, Schlotterbeck has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund, scoring four goals and providing one assist
