Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong will be sidelined with a hamstring problem and wonโ€™t return until after the international break.

The full-back started in the Redsโ€™ 4-2 victory over Bournemouth but was withdrawn around the 60-minute mark. Slot later explained that the decision was based on medical advice, with the staff spotting signs of a muscle issue during the game.

โ€œSome people questioned the substitution,โ€ Slot admitted ahead of Liverpoolโ€™s clash with Newcastle. โ€œBut the medical team advised me to take Jeremie off, and they were absolutely right. It wasnโ€™t about his performance โ€” it was about preventing further damage. We expect him to be back after the break.โ€

There was some positive news, however, as young defender Conor Bradley returned to training, taking part in a light session for the first time since his layoff.
