Liverpool have confirmed that forward Hugo Ekitike will not be part of the squad for today’s Premier League trip to Fulham due to a small fitness issue. The French striker, who has been among the Reds’ key attacking threats this season, was absent when the starting XI was announced for the match at Craven Cottage.

Ekitike’s omission comes as a slight setback for Liverpool, who are navigating a packed January schedule and are eager to keep up their momentum in the top flight. While the exact nature of the niggle hasn’t been detailed, it has been described by the club as a “minor fitness issue,” suggesting that the 23-year-old should be back in contention soon.

In his place, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has named an alternative attacking lineup as the Reds look to build on their unbeaten run in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez returns to the bench after returning from his own injury layoff.
