According to reliable transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Harvey Elliott is expected to return to Liverpool from his current loan at Aston Villa — but he may not stay at Anfield for long.

The England international struggled to secure regular game time at Villa Park, and Liverpool are now prepared to bring him back ahead of a potential fresh temporary move elsewhere. Romano’s latest update suggests that an MLS side — Charlotte FC — is interested in taking the 22‑year‑old on loan until June.

Elliott’s campaign at Villa has been frustrating, with limited opportunities to make an impact. Liverpool had hoped the loan would accelerate his development, but that hasn’t materialised as planned. Returning to his parent club only to be loaned out again could give him the chance to rebuild confidence and showcase his talent in a new environment.

While some Reds supporters have speculated whether Elliott could stay and fight for a place under Arne Slot, the current scenario points more towards another temporary spell away.
