Former Manchester United defender turned pundit, Gary Neville, didn’t mince his words following Liverpool’s disappointing Champions League showing against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Speaking on air, Neville launched a scathing critique at one of Liverpool’s long-serving stars, hinting that the Reds made a misstep by holding onto him.

> “It’s a relief he didn’t start tonight — it could’ve been a disaster,” Neville remarked. “Liverpool should’ve let him go when his contract was almost up. The game has passed him by.”

His comments instantly set social media ablaze, with many Liverpool fans leaping to the player’s defense. One fan fired back, “Show some respect — he’s given everything for this club!” Another added, “Focus on your own team, Gary!”

Neville’s remarks have reignited debate over whether Arne Slot’s trust in experience could be stifling Liverpool’s progress this season. With the team’s form under scrutiny, all eyes now turn to how the manager will respond — will he stick with his veterans or usher in a new era at ANFIELD
