🇵🇹  — Footballer’s Wife Breaks Silence 💔

As tributes continue to pour in following the heartbreaking car crash that claimed the lives of Diogo Jota and his brother last Thursday, a wave of confusion has emerged involving another Portuguese star who shares the same name as Jota’s late sibling.

The tragedy, which shook both the football world and the Portuguese community, saw Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother André laid to rest over the weekend in their hometown of Gondomar, near Porto. The public wake drew in fans, loved ones, and former teammates — among them, RB Leipzig’s André Silva.

But the presence of the Bundesliga striker, who coincidentally shares a name with the deceased André Silva (Jota’s brother), led to an unexpected misunderstanding online.

⚠️ False Rumors Trigger Panic
After the news broke, several people mistakenly believed that the André Silva from RB Leipzig had perished in the crash. The emotional wave of concern quickly reached his wife, Maria Rodrigues, who stepped in to set the record straight.

📲 Taking to her Instagram story, she wrote:

> “I’ve received so many touching and worried messages. But I want to make it clear—this tragic news does not involve my husband. Our hearts ache for the real victims and their families. Please keep them in your thoughts.”

🙏 Paying Their Respects
Despite the confusion, André Silva and Maria personally attended the wake on Friday to mourn the loss of Jota and his brother. Silva, who once played alongside Jota at FC Porto, left a bouquet of flowers at the Chapel of the Resurrection in Gondomar, where both young men were honored.

🗣️ Silva’s Emotional Tribute
Still shaken, Silva later shared his grief publicly:

> “It’s hard to process. Life is so delicate, and moments we once took for granted now carry unbearable weight. You’ll live on in our memories, Jota and André. Rest peacefully.”

The football world continues to stand in solidarity with the families, friends, and fans of the two brothers — united not just in sorrow, but in the reminder of how fleeting life can be. 💔⚽🕊️
