Well-known German journalist Christian Falk has revealed that Bayern have now drawn a clear line in the sand. Writing in his CF Bayern Insider column, Falk explained that club officials want clarity and have given Upamecano a strict deadline to either commit to a new deal or prepare for a possible exit.

Despite being viewed as a key figure under new head coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern are unwilling to allow the situation to drift any further. According to Falk, the defender has been handed just 48 hours to make up his mind, with the deadline set for this weekend.

The development has placed several top European clubs on alert — Liverpool included. The Reds have been tracking Upamecano’s situation for some time, particularly as they face their own defensive contract concerns.

Ibrahima Konaté’s current Liverpool deal is due to expire in the summer of 2026, raising the possibility that the club could soon be forced into important decisions at centre-back.
