Bayern Munich have reportedly disclosed the amount they are willing to pay for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz — and it’s turning heads.
Following a major injury blow to Jamal Musiala, who sustained both a broken leg and dislocated ankle during a clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup, Bayern are now urgently seeking reinforcements for their attacking lineup. The young German midfielder is expected to be sidelined for several months, leaving a noticeable gap in their squad.
Musiala’s injury occurred in a collision with PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, prompting public concern from Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois and others. He has since undergone surgery and will begin rehabilitation shortly.
Reacting to the incident, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl stated, “This is a tough blow — not just for Jamal but for the entire club.”
With Musiala out, Bayern are exploring several attacking options, and Diaz has emerged as a key target. However, Liverpool are reportedly open to letting the Colombian international go — but only if their asking price is met.
German journalist Christian Falk reports that the Bundesliga champions have capped their offer at around £51.6 million, with additional performance-based bonuses under consideration. Falk described this figure as Bayern’s “maximum ceiling” for any potential deal involving Diaz.
Due to the recent passing of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, Bayern are said to be approaching negotiations with sensitivity and have chosen to delay any formal talks for now.
Diaz, who joined Liverpool from Porto in early 2022 for a fee of £37.5 million, has featured in nearly 150 matches and scored 41 goals. His efforts were instrumental in Liverpool’s recent Premier League title win, where he netted 13 times in 36 appearances.
After unsuccessful bids to sign Nico Williams and Bradley Barcola, Bayern now view Diaz as their primary target for this transfer window.
