According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are not expected to fire Arne Slot before the end of the season, despite rumours linking them with Xabi Alonso.As things stand, the Reds are still in the top five in the Premier League and remain in contention for the FA Cup and the Champions League.However, if Liverpool fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, the Dutchman’s position will naturally be in grave threat.Alonso does not have an agreement about taking over from Slot if the latter gets sacked. However, the feeling in the industry is that the ex-Bayer and Real Madrid coach could be attainable this summer.
