Liverpool boss Arne Slot could be left anxious during the September international break after Alexis Mac Allister was named in Argentina’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Ecuador.
The midfielder missed much of pre-season through injury and only recently returned to Liverpool’s starting XI. With Argentina already qualified for the 2026 tournament, Reds fans hope coach Lionel Scaloni will rotate his squad and avoid risking the 26-year-old.
International breaks are always a concern for managers, and Slot will be hoping Mac Allister — alongside other key players — returns to Anfield fit and ready as Liverpool look to build momentum in the Premier League.
