A Liverpool supporter was removed from Anfield on Friday night after allegedly directing racist remarks at Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo during the first half of their Premier League clash.
The incident unfolded in front of the crowd at L4, prompting referee Anthony Taylor to pause play once it was reported. Both Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola and Liverpool boss Arne Slot were informed immediately.
📸 Witnesses later shared images on social media appearing to show the fan being escorted out of the stadium by Merseyside Police. It is expected that the individual will face a lengthy stadium ban and could also be subject to further legal action.
The timing of the abuse was particularly shameful, as the match also served as a tribute to the late Diogo Jota, whose memory had been honoured earlier in the evening. On a day meant for unity, the disgraceful behaviour stood in stark contrast to the occasion.

Semenyo delivered his answer on the pitch, netting twice to give Bournemouth a fighting chance in the contest. His performance sent a clear and powerful message against racism in football.
