Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has sparked speculation over his position in Arne Slot’s plans after sending a teasing message to Mohamed Salah during training.
The Hungarian midfielder was a standout figure in Slot’s first season, helping the Reds to a Premier League title with 17 goal contributions across 49 appearances – mostly from his favoured attacking midfield position. His creativity, energy, and eye for goal made him a key part of the team’s success.
But the arrival of Florian Wirtz this summer has shaken up Liverpool’s attacking and midfield competition. With the German capable of operating in the No.10 role, Szoboszlai might now face a choice: battle to keep his spot behind the striker or adjust to a deeper role to stay in the starting XI.
📸 In a recent training ground post, Szoboszlai shared a photo alongside Salah with the caption “Right side 😉” – a wink that many fans believe hints at him operating more on the right flank this season, potentially linking up directly with Liverpool’s Egyptian king in attack.
Off the pitch, Szoboszlai has also been influential. Reports claim he played a role in Liverpool’s pursuit of Milos Kerkez, a fellow Hungary international and close friend.
As Slot reshuffles his squad for another title push, all eyes will be on how Szoboszlai adapts – whether he keeps his central role or becomes Salah’s new partner in crime out wide.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Ben Doak this summer, with an asking price of around £20m. Premier League clubs Leeds United and West Ham are said to be keen, while Everton could re-enter the race if their move for Tyler Dibling hits a snag.
