Liverpool appear ready to sanction the departure of left-back Kostas Tsimikas before the summer transfer window closes, with reports suggesting a £15 million deal could be on the table.
According to respected former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown, the 29-year-old no longer figures in Arne Slot’s long-term plans — a point seemingly confirmed when Tsimikas was omitted from the squad for the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.
The summer arrival of Milos Kerkez, who started at Wembley, has pushed Tsimikas further down the pecking order, prompting Liverpool to explore transfer options. Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have both shown interest, with Forest previously receiving encouragement to make an approach.
Brown, who spent over a decade involved in top-flight player recruitment, believes Tsimikas will not be short of offers in England or abroad.
> “He’s been a dependable backup for Robertson for years, but Kerkez’s signing has changed that. With two solid options at left-back already, Liverpool now see him as a valuable asset to cash in on,” Brown explained.
Tsimikas isn’t the only player who could be leaving Anfield. Young winger Ben Doak is also attracting interest, with Liverpool reportedly open to bids of around £20 million. Leeds and West Ham are both monitoring the Scotland international’s availability as he struggles for regular minutes under Slot.
