“Darwin Núñez Transfer to Al-Hilal Edges Closer – Fabrizio Romano Drops Huge Hint”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has delivered a major update on Darwin Núñez’s Liverpool exit, revealing that the deal for the striker’s move to Al-Hilal is almost sealed.

Speaking earlier today, Romano claimed that negotiations between Liverpool and the Saudi Pro League club are “virtually complete,” with only final details between Núñez and Al-Hilal left to settle. He added that once the Uruguayan accepts the offer, he could be on a plane to undergo his medical in Saudi Arabia immediately.

> “Agreement between clubs is fully in place. Waiting for the player’s final decision – if Darwin agrees, he can travel for medicals at any moment,” Romano stated.

While Romano insists the club-to-club talks are done, journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested that a formal bid is still pending, despite personal terms being close to finalised. Reports of a €65m (£56m) fee have been questioned, but Liverpool are expected to receive close to their initial £64m investment from 2022.

The 26-year-old forward, who scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for the Reds, netted in what could now be his final Liverpool match – the 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Monday. With the Community Shield fast approaching, there’s a growing feeling that his Anfield farewell has already taken place.

If the deal goes through, Núñez will become the latest high-profile name to join the Saudi league, marking another major departure from Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning squad of 2024/25.
