Liverpool Turn to Real Madrid Star After Isak Pursuit Hits a Roadblock 😲

With talks stalling over a deal for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Liverpool are now weighing up a sensational alternative — Real Madrid’s explosive Brazilian forward, Rodrygo.

According to inside reports shared on the Inside Track podcast by journalist Pete O’Rourke, the Reds are keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation at the Santiago Bernabéu. While Madrid boss Xabi Alonso sees the 24-year-old as an integral part of his plans, that hasn’t stopped clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal from circling.

Back in June, Arsenal reportedly pulled out of the race to sign the attacker, with sources indicating that Rodrygo is expected to remain central to Alonso’s vision for Los Blancos. For Liverpool, however, the situation is slightly different.

Despite showing early interest in Rodrygo, the Merseyside club shifted full focus to trying to land Isak. But with Real Madrid slapping a hefty £100 million price tag on Rodrygo, and Newcastle standing firm on Isak, Liverpool now face a difficult decision: double down on their record-breaking pursuit of the Swedish striker, or reignite their interest in the Brazilian star.

Following Luis Díaz’s high-profile switch to Bayern Munich, speculation linking Rodrygo to Anfield has only intensified. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown previously revealed that Liverpool were considering Rodrygo as a replacement if Díaz departed.

Speaking recently, O’Rourke commented, “Right now, Isak remains the top priority for Liverpool. They’re doing everything possible to get that deal over the line. If that fails, then we may see a renewed push for Rodrygo.”

Rodrygo’s reduced role during the Club World Cup earlier this year has only fueled uncertainty about his future, but Alonso continues to publicly back the forward.

As things stand, Rodrygo looks set to stay in Spain — but should Liverpool’s Isak pursuit officially collapse, don’t be surprised if the Reds launch a fresh approach for the player some describe as a “world-beater.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly readying a record-breaking offer to tempt Newcastle into selling Isak, even after a whopping £110 million bid was turned down. Arne Slot is determined to strengthen his attack before the window closes — and it’s clear he’s willing to go big to make it happen.
