🇨🇴 Luis Diaz Bids Farewell to Liverpool, Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Teammate Diogo Jota 💔

Luis Diaz has officially completed a high-profile switch to Bayern Munich, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with the reigning Bundesliga champions in a £65.5 million deal.

The Colombian forward departs Liverpool after three and a half memorable years at Anfield, during which he clinched multiple titles — including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup — and scored 41 goals in 148 matches.

But what should have been a joyful farewell took on a more somber tone, as Diaz dedicated a heartfelt message to the late Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away earlier this month in a car accident.

💬 Diaz shared his thoughts on the move via Bayern’s official platform, saying:

> “Joining FC Bayern means a great deal to me. This club is one of the global giants, and I’m eager to contribute with my football and my personality. I’ve come here to compete for every trophy.”

On Instagram, Diaz opened up about his Liverpool journey in a moving message:

> “Three and a half unforgettable years. I arrived full of dreams and leave proud of what we achieved together. Liverpool is truly special – from the people, to the staff, and especially the fans.

There were both triumphs and setbacks, but the bond we shared felt like family. And though I’m leaving as a champion, the goodbye feels incomplete due to the devastating loss of Diogo.

I carry all of you in my heart, especially him. We will never forget you, Diogo. Thank you for everything. YNWA.”

🎨 A street mural has even been unveiled in memory of Jota, who remains deeply loved by fans and teammates alike.

Diaz initially joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022 for £37 million. His flair and energy on the wing quickly made him a fan favourite and a key part of the squad’s silverware-winning campaigns.

🗣️ Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen praised the capture, stating:

> “Luis is among the Premier League’s top wide players. He’s a proven winner and will bring valuable experience and intensity to our team. We’re thrilled to welcome him.”

⚽ Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund added:

> “He’s not just a goalscorer, but a tireless worker on the pitch. His presence will add a fresh spark to our attack and further strengthen the Bundesliga.”

Diaz may have swapped red for red, but his legacy at Anfield — and his tribute to a fallen friend — will be remembered forever. 🕊️❤️
