Sources close to the situation suggest that the Reds have agreed to a deal worth up to £65.5 million with the German champions. The initial payment is expected to be £61.1 million, with the rest tied to performance-related bonuses — bonuses Liverpool believe are easily achievable.

Diaz, who still has two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, was notably absent from Liverpool’s pre-season fixture against AC Milan in Hong Kong — a telling sign that his departure is imminent. The 27-year-old is now expected to leave the Reds’ tour in Asia within the next 24 hours to complete a medical with Bayern.
