Liverpool Lead Race for Crystal Palace Defender Amid Spurs Interest 👀

Liverpool are reportedly in pole position to land Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi this summer, according to a fresh update from The Telegraph. The 24-year-old looks set to part ways with the Eagles before the window closes, and Anfield appears to be his most likely destination.

But they’re not alone in the chase. Tottenham Hotspur — who previously attempted to sign Guehi during the January window — remain interested and could make another move in the coming weeks. Spurs had a bid turned down earlier this year but haven’t dropped their interest in the England international.

🔴 Why Guehi is in demand
Both Liverpool and Spurs are looking to bolster their backlines. The Reds have faced persistent injury setbacks with defenders like Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konaté, while young talent Jarell Quansah has already been moved on this summer. With Konaté also entering the final year of his deal and drawing interest from other clubs, defensive reinforcements have become a priority.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are dealing with speculation around Cristian Romero’s future, and could soon need a replacement if he departs.

💰 A cut-price opportunity?
Guehi’s situation makes him even more attractive — he’ll become a free agent next summer, which means Crystal Palace are under increasing pressure to cash in now rather than risk losing him for nothing. This opens the door for a potentially affordable transfer for any interested club.

🏆 What could sway Guehi’s decision?
The centre-back is expected to favour a move to a club with realistic ambitions of silverware. That puts Liverpool in a strong position, given their consistent presence in title races and European competitions. Joining the reigning Premier League champions could prove too tempting for Guehi to ignore.
