Arsenal Leapfrog Liverpool in Race for Teenage Striker After Upping Offer 💰

The tug-of-war between Arsenal and Liverpool for one of England’s rising stars has taken a fresh twist.

According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, Arsenal have now surged ahead in the pursuit of 17-year-old Salford City sensation Will Wright. Despite Liverpool previously holding advanced discussions over a potential deal, it’s now Arsenal who sit in pole position—after reportedly tabling a more attractive financial package to Salford.

Jacobs shared on X that Liverpool were reluctant to match the latest bid from the Gunners, a decision that could see them miss out on the highly rated forward.

🏟️ Arsenal’s summer business intensifies…

Wright may not yet be a household name, but interest from two Premier League giants speaks volumes about his potential. With Arsenal eager to invest in emerging talent, landing Wright would add another promising name to their growing list of summer acquisitions.

So far, the Gunners have brought in the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard. Deals for Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera are also progressing, while a move for Viktor Gyokeres is believed to be agreed in principle.

Meanwhile, Liverpool aren’t sitting idle either. Their own transfer activity has included marquee signings like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez—while further links to Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak suggest more could be on the way.

As the race for Will Wright heats up, all eyes are now on Salford’s next move—and whether Arsenal can seal the deal before Liverpool reignites talks. 👀
