As someone who’s watched Alexander Isak up close — not just as a fan, but from a tactical and coaching lens — let me say this clearly: this kid is special.
I’m with Chelsea, yes. We’ve got our own plans, our own targets. But if Liverpool are serious about challenging for major honours again, they should be keeping very close tabs on this guy. Isak isn’t just pace and technique — he’s got footballing intelligence, off-the-ball awareness, and a striker’s patience that you can’t teach.
Newcastle know exactly what they have, which is why they’ve slapped a price tag that crosses the £150 million mark. And fair play to them — under Eddie Howe, they’re building something strong. The Champions League spot, the Carabao Cup… they’re not just talk anymore.
But here’s the catch: Isak holds the key. Unless he signals that he’s ready for a new challenge, Newcastle won’t budge. From a coaching standpoint, it makes perfect sense — you don’t just let your most clinical finisher walk unless it comes from him.
And if I’m being honest, Isak at Liverpool? That would be frightening for the rest of us. With the right system and supply — Wirtz, Frimpong, Salah (if he stays) — he could hit 30+ goals a season. Easy.
