The countdown to the transfer deadline is heating up, and one name continues to dominate headlines — Alexander Isak. The Newcastle United striker has been a long-term target for Liverpool, but with just days left in the window, the Reds’ stance is now becoming clearer.

According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are still keeping an eye on the Swedish forward but are unwilling to get dragged into unrealistic negotiations that could damage their long-term transfer strategy.

💰 Liverpool’s Massive Bid Rejected

Earlier this month, Liverpool stunned the market with a £110 million all-cash offer for Isak — a deal that would have shattered British records without relying on add-ons or performance bonuses. Newcastle, however, instantly rejected the proposal, making it clear they would not sell easily.

Despite that, Liverpool considered the bid a serious statement of intent, proving how highly they rate the 25-year-old.

⚖️ “No New Bid” Unless Terms Change

Since then, Liverpool’s position has been straightforward: they will not return with another bid unless Newcastle show real willingness to negotiate.

Reports suggest the Reds could push their offer closer to ÂŁ120 million, but talk of a ÂŁ150 million valuation has been dismissed outright at Anfield. The club believes such figures are inflated and would set a dangerous precedent for future transfers.

🔄 Newcastle’s Dilemma

Meanwhile, Newcastle are weighing up their own options. With Callum Wilson’s future uncertain, the Magpies have already identified possible replacements, including Yoane Wissa and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Yet, there’s still uncertainty around Isak’s long-term future. While Newcastle are reluctant to lose him, sources claim the club would be open to offering him a new contract if he chooses to stay and fully commit to their project.

🔥 With time running out, the transfer saga is delicately balanced: Will Liverpool return with one final push, or will Newcastle succeed in holding on to their star striker?
