Ex-England forward Andy Carroll is in the spotlight again — but this time off the pitch. The 36-year-old striker has been formally charged with breaching a non-molestation order, a serious legal violation that could lead to possible jail time if he’s convicted.
Carroll’s arrest took place in April 2025 at Stansted Airport, shortly after he landed in the UK from France. Police say the alleged breach stems from an incident in March, though full details remain sealed by legal restrictions.
Essex Police have confirmed the charge, stating that Carroll — listed as a resident of Epping — is set to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on December 30. Breaching a non-molestation order is a criminal offence in the UK and, depending on the circumstances, can carry a prison sentence of up to five years.
Once a regular in the Premier League with clubs including Liverpool and Newcastle United, Carroll is now playing for Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South. His court date marks a dramatic turn in the former international’s life, with potentially serious consequences ahead.
