š Liverpoolās Teen Star Rio Ngumoha Set for Unique āCar Clauseā in First Pro Contract

Liverpool are preparing to offer teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha his first professional contract ā and it comes with a rather unique twist.
As the 16-year-old approaches his 17th birthday next month, the club is reportedly ready to include a special vehicle agreement in the deal, something not even senior stars have in their contracts.
Ngumoha made headlines earlier this year when he became Liverpoolās youngest-ever first team player, starting an FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley at just 16 years and 135 days old. Since then, heās continued to impress in training, with reports suggesting heās left senior players stunned with his fearless performances.
Having joined from Chelseaās academy, the young winger is expected to officially sign professional terms once eligible ā and should that happen, heāll have to follow one of the Liverpool academyās lesser-known rules.
š The ācar clauseā is a club policy aimed at keeping young players grounded. While thereās no restriction on the type of vehicle, academy staff must approve any car before it’s allowed in the clubās official car park.
š£ļø Speaking previously on the āWe Are Liverpoolā podcast, academy director Alex Inglethorpe explained the reasoning behind the rule:
> āItās not just about what the manager thinks ā senior players notice these things too. Driving in with a flashy Range Rover at 17? Thatās not the message we want.ā
He added that the policy isnāt about being strict, but about teaching humility and earning your rewards over time, not expecting instant luxuries.
Ngumoha, who started a recent pre-season clash against Preston North End, is expected to spend time with both the academy and first team this season ā but whether he drives in or not, heāll need the clubās blessing first.
One thingās clear: Liverpool believe heās worth the investment ā and the rules are just part of shaping him for greatness.
