According to reports, Liverpool are ready to pay around £43 million to secure Ordoñez’s signature — a fee that could get the deal over the line this month. The Belgian club are believed to be open to letting their promising defender leave, especially after previously blocking moves in past windows.
Ordoñez has impressed with his performances in Belgium and at international level, earning attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Liverpool view him as a potential long-term solution at the heart of their defence, particularly amid uncertainty over Ibrahima Konaté’s future, as the Frenchman has yet to sign a contract extension.
If the deal goes through, Ordoñez would bring youthful energy and pace to Liverpool’s backline — qualities manager Arne Slot is keen to add as the club look to tighten up defensively.
