As January’s transfer window heats up, Liverpool are facing one of their biggest questions this season: what comes next for Mohamed Salah. With uncertainty surrounding the Egyptian star’s long-term future at Anfield, the club is already exploring options to strengthen its attacking options.

One standout target reportedly on Liverpool’s radar is PSG winger Bradley Barcola — a 23-year-old rising star in Ligue 1 known for his blistering pace, technical skill, and ability to unlock defences. Since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Lyon in 2023, Barcola has become one of France’s most exciting young attackers, regularly contributing goals and assists for his club.

Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot is said to admire Barcola’s blend of youth and potential, viewing him as a player who could boost the Reds’ forward line both now and in the seasons to come. With Salah’s future unresolved and his contract approaching a crucial phase, appointing a dynamic wide player like Barcola would be part of Liverpool’s strategy to balance immediate competitiveness with long-term planning.

Despite the interest, the January move faces hurdles. Barcola is under contract with PSG for several more seasons, giving the French club a strong negotiating position. Liverpool would likely have to pay a significant fee to secure his services — and PSG might be unwilling to lose the talented Frenchman midway through the campaign.

If it goes through, however, a transfer for Barcola could send a strong signal about Liverpool’s ambitions and readiness to adapt to what may be a post-Salah era.
