Just days before Jurgen Klopp publicly confirmed his decision to leave Liverpool, there was one more transfer that almost went through… but ultimately didn’t happen. 👀

Back in January 2024, the Reds were strongly linked with a move for a highly regarded midfielder, with talks intensifying right up until Klopp’s departure announcement. But despite the buzz, no agreement was reached — and the player ended up joining Juventus instead for a slightly higher fee.

Since moving to Italy, he hasn’t quite lit up Serie A. Used in different positions and systems by his coaches, his impact hasn’t matched the expectations many had for him — and Juventus finished outside the top spots last season.

While we’ll never know how he’d have fared in the Premier League, some suggest Liverpool have no reason to regret missing out, especially given how the squad evolved after Klopp’s era ended.
