Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Paris Saint-Germain star Vitinha as part of their January transfer plans, with club scouts said to be impressed by his remarkable form over the past year.
The Portuguese midfielder, 25, has enjoyed a standout season, helping PSG secure a historic treble and finishing third in the Ballon d’Or rankings — a testament to his growing influence in European football.
Sources close to CaughtOffside claim Liverpool are “closely monitoring” Vitinha as Arne Slot seeks to strengthen his midfield options following a sluggish start to the campaign. The Reds view the former Wolves loanee as a technically gifted playmaker who can control the tempo, glide through pressure, and bring balance to Slot’s tactical setup.
However, landing Vitinha won’t be easy. PSG are reportedly unwilling to sell, though a massive offer in the region of €130 million (£114m) could push the French champions to reconsider. Both Arsenal and Juventus are also believed to be keeping tabs on the situation, but Liverpool are only expected to move if one of their current midfielders departs in January.
Vitinha has previously spoken highly of Liverpool, praising the Anfield crowd after a Champions League clash earlier this year.
> “It’s not easy to play in this stadium, with the atmosphere behind them,” he said after PSG’s penalty shoot-out win. “Liverpool are a great team, and we’re just happy we came out on top.”
During that match, the midfielder was a standout performer — completing 103 of 111 passes and winning six ground duels, earning rave reviews from pundits.
Football legend Thierry Henry also hailed the Portuguese star on TNT Sports, remarking:
> “Vitinha plays a different kind of game. His control, rhythm, and intelligence — that’s what makes him special. It’s not just about tricks, it’s about how he makes the whole team tick.”
With Liverpool reportedly weighing a “staggering” offer, the coming transfer window could see a fierce battle for one of Europe’s most elegant midfield talents.
