Both Liverpool and Manchester City have been handed a potential opportunity to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi this January — but only if they can meet the price tag Palace set for their captain.
According to reports, Palace could be willing to consider offers during the winter window because Guéhi’s contract runs down in just a few months, meaning they risk losing him for nothing in the summer. That situation has sparked renewed interest from some of England’s top clubs.
City are actively looking into bolstering their defensive ranks after suffering injuries to key centre-backs, while Liverpool haven’t given up hope of landing the England international despite failing to conclude a deal in the previous window.
Though Palace would prefer to keep their skipper through the remainder of the season, a substantial bid could force their hand — with both Premier League giants ready to test the club’s resolve if the price is right.
