In a tight first half at the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool came closer than most expected to heading into the break in front — and the moment almost came through right-back Conor Bradley.
Despite Arsenal dominating possession early on, clear chances were scarce. But around the 25-minute mark, Liverpool began to grow into the game. A defensive slip from William Saliba saw the ball fall kindly to Bradley after David Raya’s hurried clearance. Sensing an opportunity, the young Northern Irishman tried an audacious lob over the stranded goalkeeper.
The ball nearly dipped under the bar, only to cannon back off the crossbar, much to the relief of the home supporters. Cody Gakpo tried to follow up, but Arsenal’s defence scrambled the rebound away before anything could happen.
That moment proved Liverpool’s best opening of the first half and showed they weren’t content to simply sit back against the league leaders. Although the score remained level at the interval, Bradley’s effort hinted at the threat the visitors posed going forward — and how fine margins could’ve dramatically changed the narrative of the evening.
