Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak has taken another twist — and now, a shock alternative has entered the conversation. 👀
The Reds saw a £110m bid rejected by Newcastle earlier this summer for their Swedish striker, who has since clashed with his club. Isak has accused the Magpies of “breaking promises,” trained away from the first team, and even posted on Instagram demanding an exit. With the transfer deadline edging closer, Liverpool are yet to return with a second offer.
Meanwhile, manager Arne Slot has made it clear he still wants another attacker, despite Hugo Ekitike shining with a goal and assist on his debut in the 4-2 win over Bournemouth.
🔄 Vinicius Jr. Suddenly on the Table?
According to Spanish reports, Vinicius Junior could become available for around £130m — a figure surprisingly lower than Newcastle’s current valuation of Isak, which exceeds £150m.
The Brazilian forward, one of the most exciting wingers in world football, is on huge wages at the Bernabéu (around £350k per week) and would likely demand even more in his next deal, especially after finishing second in the Ballon d’Or race last year.
Still, Liverpool may feel a move isn’t entirely out of the question — especially given Real Madrid president Florentino Perez’s recent comments about the Reds.
🗣️ Perez Hints at Liverpool Relationship
After signing Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this summer, Perez said:
> “One of the best full-backs in world football. He played for one of the most important clubs in the world, Liverpool. You join from a club we have a great relationship with, Liverpool. Today, your dream has come true.”
While many Liverpool fans might roll their eyes at the idea of a “great relationship” with Real — remembering names like Michael Owen, Steve McManaman, and of course that Sergio Ramos moment — the Spanish giants have certainly taken more than they’ve given over the years.
But could that finally change?
🚀 Would Liverpool Dare?
A move for Vinicius Jr. would shock the football world, but with Liverpool’s spending power on full display this summer, the idea isn’t completely out of reach.
Whether the Reds stick to their Isak pursuit or pivot to a galáctico like Vinicius could define their summer window. Either way, fans are in for a dramatic finish to the transfer market. 🔴🔥
