The decisive moment came when Hannibal Mejbri blocked Jeremie Frimpong’s cross with his arm. The referee pointed to the spot, and Salah coolly converted to snatch all three points in the 95th minute.
It was a cruel ending for Burnley, who had executed their defensive game plan superbly, frustrating Liverpool for much of the contest and limiting their chances.
> “It’s really tough to take,” Parker admitted. “That’s two weeks in a row where a penalty in the dying moments has cost us. The boys worked so hard, and we deserved something out of this game.”
Despite the disappointment, Parker praised his team’s resilience and discipline against a Liverpool side known for punishing the smallest mistakes.
